ABOUT THE COURSE

Embody what you teach

Our 200hr courses thoroughly prepare you to teach yoga, and 90% of our trainees teach within 3 months of graduating. Compared to 35% on average. We have run this course for 17 years and every time we learn how to support you better; so that you exvel as a teacher.   This is a broad, experiential curriculum, non-dogmatic and rooted in yoga philosophy. You'll leave with the knowledge, skills and confidence to teach with depth and authenticity. 
This inclusive training covers teaching for complete beginners, and includes chair yoga, restorative practices, anatomy, philosophy, and full business setup support.

CURRICULUM

Asana & Adjustment
Key principles, alignment, hands-on adjustment and mobilisation for healthy movement in all bodies.
Mind & Meditation
Meditation techniques, pranayama, breathwork, neurology of yoga and the psychology of practice.
Philosophy & Ethics
Yoga philosophy from key texts, contemporary applications, ethics of teaching, and yoga's historical context.
Anatomy & Physiology
Anatomy of breath and posture, restorative poses for sleep and stress reduction, and chair yoga training.
Teaching Practice
1-2-1, small and large group settings with peer and mentor feedback across all levels — beginners to mixed.

Setting up, marketing and growing your yoga business — so you can start teaching with confidence from day one.

Laura Gilmore
With over 26 years' teaching experience, Laura leads the training programmes at Bristol School of Yoga and is certified to train teachers to the highest level. Laura shares an in depth knowledge of yoga traditions, meditation practices, pranayama techniques. Read more about Laura.

Kate Brandon
Kate Brandon is a highly experienced specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapist with nearly 20 years of experience in both private practice and the NHS. A qualified yoga teacher, she has been teaching anatomy, physiology and movement science topics for yoga teachers for the past decade.
