Welcome Students!
October 2025 Hatha & Restorative Student Portal
Here you’ll find plenty of useful information about the course and the studio
What to expect on your training days:
Each training day starts at 9am and finishes at 5pm with a 1 hour lunch break from 1pm - 2pm. Try to arrive promptly and ideally a little early to give yourself time to set up and settle in.
Each day contains different content depending on where you are in the course. We try to keep this updated, though there are times where things will be changed at the last minute for varying reasons.
On the very first day of training you’ll be supplied with a manual which has all the content that you’ll cover throughout the course. Make sure you keep it safe and bring it along to each weekend!
What to bring to each training weekend:
Comfortable clothes to practice in
Your training manual
A notepad and pen
A water bottle
Lunch (if required)
Yoga Mat/Equipment if you prefer to use your own (some available in studio)
A breakdown of your training:
By now you will have probably already spoken to one of our lead tutors or read through a lot of information via websites or emails. Here is a rough breakdown of what training is provided for you throughout the course and what home-study is expected of you.
Each training weekend is between 2 and 4 days in length, covering a broad range of subjects. Throughout the course you’ll be expected to keep track of assignments, read through pages of the manual, read through the suggested texts and maintain a regular physical practice.
On top of the live training sessions, you are also given access to some online pre-recorded content to aid in your study. These are - Teaching ‘an intro into yoga’ course and The Inclusive Yoga Method. These 2 courses are accessed via www.lauragilmoreyoga.co.uk, you will receive an email at the beginning of your course giving you information on how to log in. Your progress on these courses will be tracked throughout the course, you will have 6 months to complete these courses - ideally completing them both prior to your final live session.
Your assignments: a detailed explanation of these can be found in the Admin Manual linked at the bottom of the page

A recommended study plan:
This is a general overview and study guide to try and help you manage your time and prepare yourself for what is coming up. Italics indicates an assignment that will be set and bold indicates an assignment that is due.
Module 1: Access the online courses and start progressing through these. The Anatomy and Physiology Group Presentation will be set here and you’ll be allocated your groups, this is due in Module 3. Also set this module will be Class Observations which is also due in Module 3. Make sure you’re keeping a practice diary throughout the training as well, we may call on this at any time.
Module 2: Submit your first Teacher Report. You’ll be set the 6 class plans and reviews and Yoga Sutras of Patanjali review presentations assignments here but these aren’t due for several months yet. Continue working your way through the online content where you can. Make sure you are ready for the A+P presentations next module!
Module 3: Anatomy and Physiology Presentations will take place and Class Observations are due in now. Also this module, you’ll be set the Bhagavad Gita Review which is due in the next module along with the Yoga Sutras presentations. Keep going - reach out to your fellow students or the tutors if you need any help!
Module 4: The Bhagavad Gita Review needs to be submitted and the Sutras presentations will take place. The Final Essay will be discussed here with tutorials due to take place in Module 5 but not due until Module 6. Make sure you’re getting through the online content, and teaching your 6 classes for review as they are due in the next module.
You’re over half way through now things are ramping up - but don’t worry, there’s still plenty of time!
Module 5: The 6 class plans and reviews will need to be submitted now and you’ll discuss the Hatha Yoga Pradipika assignment. Also this month, the Main Essay tutorials will take place so you can discuss your ideas with the tutors. We will give you the A+P Open Book Exam which you’ll have one month to complete - so get started!
Module 6: The HYP review is due this module, come prepared for a discussion. Also, your Second Teacher report needs to be submitted along with your Open Book Exam. By now you should have completed all of your online content as access to these will be revoked very soon, and there is important information that will be useful for the last few assignments. Final Exams are coming up, why not organise a study group?
If you’ve had extensions approved please ensure everything is submitted and completed in time for your final module - the Final exam and teching assessment takes place next month!
Module 7: Things are wrapping up now, your Main Essay is due here. Next module is finals weekend - exams and assessments will take place.
Module 8: This is the final module. Your Final Exam & Teaching Assessments will take place here. At the end, we top it all off with a Closing Ceremony to mark the end of your studies and congratulate you on all of your hard work.
It may feel daunting now, but rest assured as you progress through the course things will become clearer. Reach out to your tutors, or your fellow students. Organise study groups or meet up/zoom calls to support each other along the way!
We recommend at least a day a week or 2 evenings a week of home-study to keep you up to date.
