Welcome Students, Vinyasa & Yin Yoga Teacher Training 2025
You’ll find plenty of useful information all about your training with Bristol School of Yoga
What to expect on your training days:
Each training day starts at 9am and finishes at 5pm with a 1 hour lunch break from 1pm - 2pm. Try to arrive promptly and ideally a little early to give yourself time to set up and settle in.
Each day contains different content depending on where you are in the course. We try to keep this updated, though there are times where things will be changed at the last minute for varying reasons.
On the very first day of training you’ll be supplied with a manual which has all the content that you’ll cover throughout the course. Make sure you keep it safe and bring it along to each weekend!
What to bring to each training weekend:
Comfortable clothes to practice in
Your training manual
A notepad and pen
A water bottle
Lunch (if required)
Yoga Mat/Equipment if you prefer to use your own (some available in studio)
A breakdown of your training:
By now you will have probably already spoken to one of our lead tutors or read through a lot of information via websites or emails. Here is a rough breakdown of what training is provided for you throughout the course and what home-study is expected of you.
Each training weekend is between 2 and 4 days in length, covering a broad range of subjects. Throughout the course you’ll be expected to keep track of assignments, read through pages of the manual, read through the suggested texts and maintain a regular physical practice.
On top of the live training sessions, you are also given access to some online pre-recorded content to aid in your study. These are - Teaching ‘an intro into yoga’ course and The Inclusive Yoga Method. These 2 courses are accessed via www.lauragilmoreyoga.co.uk, you will receive an email at the beginning of your course giving you information on how to log in. Your progress on these courses will be tracked throughout the course, you will have 6 months to complete these courses - ideally completing them both prior to your final live session (aka final exams/assessments).
Your assignments: a detailed explanation of these can be found in the Admin Manual linked at the bottom of the page

A recommended study plan:
This is a general overview and study guide to try and help you manage your time and prepare yourself for what is coming up. (Italics indicate an assignment that is coming up soon, bold indicates an assignment that is due.)
Module 1: Access the online courses and start progressing through these. You’ll be allocated your A+P groups and body parts so link up with your pair or group and start discussing the assignment together. Look ahead at upcoming assignments due in the next few modules.
Module 2: Submit your first Teacher Report and begin finding classes for Class Observations due next module. Continue working through the online content and begin preparing for your Yoga Sutras presentation.
Module 3: A+P group presentations and class observations are due now . It’s also time to start thinking about your 6 class plans and reviews assignment, keep working through that online content and take a look at the class plan examples there. You can find examples for your Main Essay here - this will be due soon. Yoga Sutra presentations are also due next module!
Module 4: Your second Teacher report and Yoga Sutras Presentation is due. You will be given your A+P open book exam here, get to work on this as you have one month to complete. By now you should have also completed the online courses - access to these will be revoked very soon. The 6 class reviews are due and your final exam is set for the next module. Now is the time to band together and help each other out! Why not organise a study group?
Module 5: 6 Class reviews and A+P open book exam are due and the Final Exam will take place during this module. Things are wrapping up for the finals which is in a few weeks, if you’ve had extensions approved please ensure everything is submitted and completed in time for your final module and assessments.
Module 6: This is the final module. Your Main Essay and final Teaching assessments will be due here, and to top it off we will hold a closing ceremony to mark the end of your studies.
And, breathe. It may feel daunting now, but rest assured as you progress through the course things will become clearer. Reach out to your tutors, or your fellow students - organise study groups or meet ups/zoom calls to support each other along the way!
We recommend at least a day a week or 2 evenings a week of home-study to keep you up to date.
